Despite being developed by MercurySteam rather than Nintendo directly, Metroid Dread is canonically considered “Metroid 5;” the end of a story arc that began with 1986’s Metroid on NES. It ties up plenty of loose ends regarding Samus’ origins and major threats to the galaxy, including the titular Metroid and the X-Parasite they were designed to eradicate. However, Metroid Dread also turns Samus into a potentially bigger galactic threat than any before, and it would be great to see future games grapple with this concept as a new arc for the series....

A recent Best Buy listing has leaked the existence of Metroid Prime Trilogy for the Nintendo Switch. No other details are available in the listing, but it’s likely that Metroid Prime Trilogy on the Switch is a direct port of the collection that was previously released for the Wii in 2009 and the Wii U eShop in 2015. This means that Switch owners should be able to look forward to enhanced versions of the original Metroid Prime games, assuming the Best Buy listing is legitimate....

Mexico’s total confirmed COVID-19 deaths has been raised to 227,840 after previous deaths were reviewed by officials. “These deaths are not part of the recent epidemic activity. According to the Miami Herald, the Publix where the incident occurred is located at 1776 Biscayne Blvd and the video was captured on April 16. After the officer takes the man to the ground, he can be seen attempting to restrain the man’s head and hand but as he resists the officer throws multiple punches at the man’s head....
