Cincinnati is famed for a few things: its sports teams, Jon Moxley and Skyline Chili. A few of these things are objectively great — but not Skyline Chili, the Mets broadcaster said. Cohen offered play-by-play on a video of a Skyline Chili 5-Way platter being made during the Mets-Reds matchup — that’s spaghetti, beans, chili, chopped onions and about 2 pounds of shredded cheese, if you’re keeping score at home — and had some pretty inflammatory comments on Cincy’s “local delicacy” and its “disgusting chili gravy”...

According to multiple reports, Mets general manager Brodie Van Wagenen has been dictating in-game moves to Callaway, at least once while watching the game at home on TV. The New York Post reported Monday that Van Wagenen instructed Callaway to pull Jacob deGrom from a game in Arizona on June 1 after he suffered a cramp. Visibly upset, deGrom insisted he could continue. The bullpen blew a Mets lead as they went on to lose in extra innings....

Cespedes had surgery Aug. 2 performed by Dr. Robert Anderson in Wisconsin to remove bone calcification in his right heel, the first of two operations expected to sideline the outfielder for eight to 10 months. The procedure on his left heel is set for Oct. 23, five days after his 33rd birthday. Because Cespedes’ status is uncertain, Mets chief operating officer Jeff Wilpon says the team must plan in the offseason as though the two-time All-Star will be unavailable....

Wildlife officials identified 76 wolves in Arizona and 87 in New Mexico, up from the 131 wolves counted at the end of 2018. According to the FWS, there are at least 42 packs of two or more individuals, and a further 10 lone wolves. Of the 28 packs that have been monitored since last spring, a minimum of 21 contained pups. Meanwhile, mortality rates appear to be down. Fourteen deaths were recorded last year, a 33 percent drop from the 21 recorded in 2018....

Nothing is confirmed yet, though, and all eyes will be on Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez. The star Mexico forward looked likely to join Turkish side Besiktas, but West Ham United may try to convince the forward his Premier League days are far from done. A rash of injuries to other attackers has left David Moyes with few options going forward. However, that doesn’t mean Mexico doesn’t want to crush Honduras’ hopes of making the World Cup with a big win Tuesday. After all, it’s not just the possibility of extending the frustration Honduras felt after Costa Rica’s last-minute equalizer sent the Ticos into the World Cup and Honduras on the verge of missing for the first time in three cycles. Mexico has something to play for as well. It can become just the second-ever undefeated Hex team, and in doing so set the record for best-ever Hex finish with 24 points, one better than Costa Rica’s 1998 qualification mark....

Salcedo moved to Europe in 2016, joining Fiorentina before moving to the Bundesliga side this summer. The former Real Salt Lake center back hopes to remain in Europe, but he indicated he wouldn’t be totally against a return to the Guadalajara side with which he started his youth career and where he returned to play three tournaments with the senior side. “We’ve talked. This will be the eleventh match between the two. The Romanian has dominated this rivalry so far, winning seven out of ten matches. On hard courts, Halep has won six matches to the Czech’s two. Their most recent meeting also went Halep’s way, where she got the better of Pliskova in the Fed Cup, in the process helping Romania to an unlikely victory over the defending Champions. Both of them come into this match on the back of some inconsistent performances, with the victor likely to be considered the overwhelming favourite to lift the title....

Michael Schumacher is slowly being brought out of an induced coma, his manager has confirmed. There were reports last night, about the 7-time world champion being woken up from an induced coma more than 4 weeks after he suffered a serious head injury in a skiing accident. Schumacher’s manager has now confirmed that the seadation is indeed being reduced to allow the waking-up process. “Michael’s sedation is being reduced in order to allow the start of the waking-up process, which may take a long time,” said his manager Sabine Kehm....

The Fast and the Furious was directed by Rob Cohen and written by Gary Scott Thompson and David Ayer. The action blockbuster follows Brian O’Conner, an undercover LA police officer who tries to convict a group of illegal street racers. O’Connor soon falls in love with the speed racing world and the sister of the criminal he’s tasked to bring down.
